Media Sensitization Workshop on Child Rights Issues – Vijayapura

Child Rights Trust participated in a Media Sensitization Workshop on Child Rights Issues held at Vijayapura Mahila University in collaboration with UNICEF and the Karnataka Child Rights Observatory (KCRO) network. The programme brought together 22 media professionals from North Karnataka to strengthen their understanding of child rights and responsible reporting.

The workshop featured resource persons from UNICEF and the Departments of Journalism of Mysore University and Vijayapura University. A session on child rights laws, including the Juvenile Justice Act, POCSO Act, Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, Child Labour Act, and Right to Education Act, was conducted with practical examples and case studies.

The programme contributed to enhancing media engagement on child rights issues and promoting greater public awareness on the protection and well-being of children.
