Since its inception in 2002, CRT has been at the forefront of child advocacy, striving to ensure every child enjoys a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.

The commemorative event, hosted to celebrate this achievement, brought together CRT's staff, donors, and supporters. Dr. Vasudeva Sharma, Executive Director and Trustee, warmly welcomed attendees, while Mrs. Priyanka expertly guided the audience through the proceedings. Ms. Jyoti vividly recounted CRT's journey, highlighting the organization's significant accomplishments over the years.

A notable highlight of the event was an insightful talk by Ms. Anjali Ramanna, Trustee of CRT, on "The new criminal laws of 2023, replacing the old regime." Her thought-provoking discussion shed light on the implications of these changes for child rights.

On July 15, 2024, the Child Rights Trust hosted the second annual Dr. Padmini - Child Rights Award ceremony, a prestigious event honoring individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to promoting and protecting children's rights.

Two exceptional individuals, Ms. Sushila, Spandana, Belagavi and Ms. Shobha, Sevak, Belagavi were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the field of child rights. Their tireless efforts embody the spirit of advocacy and commitment that Dr. Padmini championed throughout her career.

Commitment to Child Rights

The Child Rights Trust reaffirmed its commitment to advancing child rights discussions, recognizing exemplary individuals through awards, and nurturing future leaders through fellowships and training initiatives. The event celebrated achievements while galvanizing ongoing efforts to ensure that children everywhere enjoy their fundamental rights to life, protection, development, and participation.

Inaugural Dr. Padmini Memorial Lecture

The ceremony featured the inauguration of Dr. Padmini memorial lecture by renowned child rights expert, Mrs. Sudha Murali. Her inspiring speech emphasized the importance of collective action in ensuring children's rights and empowering future generations.

Dr. Padmini Child Rights Fellowship

The ceremony also highlighted the Dr. Padmini Child Rights Fellowship, which supports five young individuals in their pursuit of child rights advocacy, particularly in rural areas. This initiative aims to empower the next generation of leaders in the field. Ms. Suman Mathew, Mr. Anklesh, Ms. Shyalaja HC, Ms. Shruthi, Mr. Anjinappa.
